We figured it would be useful to post some frequently asked questions and their answers periodically. So far these are the questions we get the most from potential team candidates that are interested in joining Family Friendly Live:
Q: I personally don’t swear, but sometimes I play games that contain questionable content. Is that OK?
A:
Generally, yes! We allow streamers to play up to M rated games, as long as profanity and vulgarity is avoided by the streamers themselves, the people in their voice call (if any), and in chat. The idea is you’re cleaning up anything under your control. We understand that during blind playthroughs of games or share media with which you’re unfamiliar, you won’t be able to block every bit of objectionable content in your stream. Practice discretion.
Q: Sometimes people swear in my chat, but I don’t want to ban them for doing so. Would I have to if I joined?
A: Nope! If it happens, just encourage your chat to avoid using profanity. Assuming it’s not too far on the malicious side, you can even just make a lighthearted joke out of it and simply ask them to use more appropriate language. You can also add a word list to AutoMod so certain profanities are automatically blocked.
Q: I’m busy, and have a lot of other priorities. What are the commitments of joining the team?
A:
We expect priorities of your channel may come before the team. Once you join us, we are here to help you! We want our members to be accessible, not only to our audience, but to each other as well. That means responding to team leaders or members’ messages within a reasonable time period. Other than that, don’t stress if you just want to do your own thing! That’s totally fine.
